The department of Chemistry traces back its root to 1958. Prof J. N. Negi rendered his service as the founder HOD of the department. The Major course was introduced in 1972. The Department is co-coordinating with Gauhati University in holding Chemistry Olympiad every year.

  2. Substrate dictation in indium catalyzed hydrothiolation of terminal alkynes: formation of Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov products by altering the substrates.
  3. Synthesis of conjugated ketimines by indium catalyzed tandem hydroamination/hydroalkylation of terminal alkynes.
